After much consideration, I am officially retiring the baking portion of From Here to Sunday, including the Taster's Club Cookie Subscription.


This summer, I took a break from baking for the very first time in nearly six years, and it gave me some time to reflect on where my business is and how it intersects with my personal life. I quickly realized that part of why I was feeling burnt out was because I was stuck operating on autopilot for the last few years, despite the business continuing to expand and evolve in two different directions. Baking became an item on a long to-do list instead of the experimental, creative outlet it once was. I’d really love to get back to baking out of joy instead of out of necessity! On top of that, it’s become much too expensive to maintain ingredients, while still operating the storefront.

Another important aspect of this decision is that I want to continue to prioritize self-care. Last year, I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease, and while I am doing well with treatment, I’ve been having a difficult time adjusting to what is essentially a new body and limited energy levels. So setting boundaries between work life and home life has become even more crucial.

Regardless, baking has been a vital part of the business–especially the subscription–which helped keep us afloat during the darkest days of the pandemic. I don’t think we could have even gotten through the lockdown had it not been for all our wonderful subscribers! I am incredibly grateful to be able to receive such love and support, and feel privileged to be able to provide a tiny bit of brightness to you every month. 

Storefront portraitFrom Here to Sunday started through sharing baked goods, and it has served as a creative stepping stone in the formation of the storefront, a seed for establishing the ethos of the shop, and a meaningful lifeline. This was not an easy decision to make. I’m not done with baking forever, and I’m happy to bring it back if/when it feels right, but for now, the focus will be on nourishing our community at the storefront.

Thank you so much for supporting this phase of the business! I wish I could put into words the overwhelming love I feel when I think about all who believed in me & stuck around to see this bloom.
