Artist Statement
Wanting, Having, Losing, Finding is inspired by a continuing education class I took with Melanie Parks back in 2015 when I first moved to NYC. One of the assignments was titled “A Story in 4 Panels,” and the prompt was Wanting, Having, Losing, Finding. At the time, as a recent illustration graduate feeling lost in both style and career, that assignment opened my eyes to how illustration and comics can beautifully intertwine.
More than a decade later, now as a New Yorker cartoonist known for 4-panel comics, I see this theme of wanting, having, losing, and finding throughout my entire journey. This collection reflects my growth and evolution as an artist exploring both life and career from 2015 to today.
