Doodle Tea Party sprung about in 2023 as a conversation drawn in ink between two longtime New Yorkers. Over time it grew into a gathering space shaped and colored by their shared experiences and interests as diasporic queer Asian-American women. Since then, Doodle Tea Party has been hosting regular community drawing doodle gatherings in Brooklyn, where participants of all backgrounds, identities, and artistic experiences engage in a collaborative doodle activity that uses drawing as a medium to nourish relationships between people.
