Join us for a cozy evening scribble session, open to all who crave the fervid energy of writing by candlelight in the company of others. Lightly guided with prompt suggestions for freewriting, which may follow a theme. Participants are welcome to share their writing after a group free write, and there will be an optional sign-up sheet for workshopping works in progress. Whether you are a weathered writer holding on to life by the skin of your teeth or looking for a comfy place to zone out and write, there's a chair and warm tea waiting for you here (complete with light snicksnacks)!

Born and braised in the immigrant stew of Bensonhurst, Emily Sandara-Lai (they/them) is a radical Malaysian-Chinese lesbian who writes their feelings into poetry and their dreams into prose. They have experience in facilitating writing workshops, and specialize in writing creative fiction, personal narrative, and horror. They may be found in the wild on a neighborhood date with their wife or wheezing under a hairy blanket occupied by a cat.
