Spend a chill evening crafting, doodling, and collaging your very own Magic card proxies! We’ll have everything you need to get started: cards, glue, colorful paper, stickers, collage materials and more – and you’re welcome to bring any materials you’d like to work with or share. No experience needed!
Cohosted by Mark Zlotsky and Hothead Collective, this event is open to folks of all ages and ability, no matter if you’re a proxy-making veteran or dipping your toes in. We’ll also have some light snacks and drinks.
Tickets include a DIY Proxy Kit prepared by Hothead Collective, so you can keep making proxies at home!
Kits include:
10 x blank playing cards
1 x 6 inch ruler
1 x twin tipped permanent marker
1 x hobby knife
1 x glue stick
2 x custom flash sheets
4 x textured paper sheets
1 x hothead sticker
1 x secret layer sticker
The event is capped at 16 seats.

Mark Zlotsky is a Brooklyn-based artist with a background in architecture. His practice is driven by curiosity and guided by a short attention span; Mark follows ideas across different materials rather than sticking to a single medium. He illustrates, builds furniture, embroiders, and, as one half of the collaborative artist duo Mookntaka, creates large-scale interactive inflatable sculptures and pop-up installations around the city. Mark believes in making art you can actually play with.
Hothead Collective is a space to explore fantasy, sci-fi, and other speculative fiction through the lens of gaming and pop culture.
