Come explore the art of Tatreez, also known as Palestinian embroidery, in this unique hands-on beginner’s workshop. This two-hour class will focus on the fundamentals of Tatreez and its importance to the Palestinian people.
Led by Anwar (@threads.of.tatreez), a local Palestinian American Tatreez artist and instructor, the workshop begins with a brief history of Tatreez and its cultural connection to Palestinians. Participants will then be guided through stitching techniques and motifs.
All materials are included, and each guest will receive a custom Tatreez kit. Whether you're looking to connect with your Palestinian roots or simply explore a new craft, this class offers an enriching and creative experience. No prior experience is needed, just a passion for learning. Open to all skill levels, but designed with beginners in mind.
From Here to Sunday will be closed to the public during the workshop. Light snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the event.
This workshop is for ages 14 and up.
